av98m SG

i've done just about every recipe in that book Mr. Green

Hey!! How about I make Otik's Spiced Potatos for the potluck

tare SG

why would anyone rem titles of textbooks?! Shocked

ShrodingersCat SG

Evil. I've read it but don't possess it.

Brilliant premise isn't it? Foundation?! And i believe that it is happening now even as he describes it.

Asimov is a brilliant brilliant man. He is what a scifi writer should be - a social commentor of a possible future.

elindra SG

*Sigh* *Sigh*

But the new charc Talon Silverhawk is pretty cool
I'm starting to like him Smile

av98m SG

av98m SG

BTW, some of the songs in Evanescance's new album were originally written for the movie soundtrack but were rejected for some reason.

elindra SG

That was the series that made me interested in fantasy books Embarassed

ShrodingersCat SG

YEah same here.. .

It is hard not to be 'changed' by that series. Just amazing.

Oh that and "How to Eat Fried Worms"
Anyone ever read that when you were young? I love tt book.

elindra SG

Yes yes yes I loved "How to Eat Fried Worms" too!!!

the Bear SG

after school, they become brilliant books to read...

The River Between by Ngugi and Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe remain two of the most excellent books i've read...

books, i have weird reading tastes... currently reading Murakami books... they're surreal and excellent Very Happy

ShrodingersCat SG

WOW Weeeeeeeee

Nobody I know have EVER read that book before!!! Great book huh i loveeeeeeed it Very Happy

elindra SG

Yes yes it was great!
What are the other great books I"ve ready before
I'm terrible with titles

Oh I also loved those compiled fairy tales called

The Red Fairy Book etc... they had Green Blue Yellow Purple and god knows what colours

Really good. They have fairy tales and myths from all cultures

ShrodingersCat SG

I think you like books with a lot of detail maybe?

I find one thing about Things Fall Apart and .. books like "Walkabout" about indigeneous people is that they tend to focus a lot A LOT on the pastoral scenery. Its like every chapter will be 2-3 paragraphs on 'natural' scenes. Of course much of the natural scene description 'sets' the mood for what happens eventually but sometimes I get bogged down by it and loses stamina to continue reading it....

ShrodingersCat SG

YEAH!

I have them in my PDA Wink

They are downloadable now royalty free hurhurhurhurhurhurhurhurhur!
